Two women in a drunken stupor got into a fight mid-air, causing their Cuba-bound Sunwing plane to return to Toronto, Wednesday.
The women have been identified as 25-year-old Lilia Ratmanski (left) from Whitby, Ontario and 26-year-old Milana Muzikante (right) from Vaughan, Ontario. They face charges of smoking on board and endangering safety on an aircraft
It is reported that the ladies consumed a significant quantity of duty-free alcohol in the aircraft lavatory and lit a cigarette, which triggered the smoke detector alarm, according to airline spokeswoman Janice Chapman.

This apparently led to a scuffle in which Ratmanski and Muzikante made a threat against the 737 aircraft. The threat was not considered credible due to their drunken state, according to Chapman.
The Sunwing 656 flight crew followed the appropriate protocol, turning the aircraft around over North Carolina.
Two Canadian CF-18 jets were ordered to escort the plane back to the Pearson International Airport.
