The name of the officer who shot and killed unarmed teen Mike Brown has been released. Officer Darren Wilson, a six-year veteran who has no history of disciplinary action, has been named as the shooter.
Police Chief Thomas Jackson revealed the cop’s identity early Friday morning in a press conference. Officer Wilson was reportedly treated for injuries after the shooting. The St. Louis-area officer is described by Chief Thomas as “torn up” over the shooting.
The “hacktivist” social media account, Annoynous, whose Twitter account has been suspended, released the wrong name of the officer. Authorities said that the person Anonymous named was actually a dispatcher and was not involved in the Ferguson shooting.
Many were outraged that officials hadn’t released the shooter’s name, even a week after the incident. The Ferguson Police Department was reluctant to release the name, citing death threats to officers.
Meanwhile, the Missouri chapter of the Ku Klux Klan has started raising reward money for Officer Wilson.
In an email from the terroristic hate group, described Brown as a thug and Officer Wilson as “a hero. We need more white cops who are anti-Zog and willing to put Jewish controlled black thugs in their place. Most cops are cowards and do nothing while 90 percent of interracial crime is black (and non-white) on white.”
