Rapper Kanye West is possibly facing felony attempted robbery charges after attacking a photographer in the airport on Friday. After arriving at LAX, the 36-year-old self-proclaimed savior–better known as “Yeezus” –lunged at a photographer who had an endless stream of questions, in an attempt to wrestle the camera from his hands.
According to TMZ, Kanye hopped into his waiting car as the photographer was taken to a hospital following the altercation. He later told authorities that he was interested in pressing charges.
The case will be referred to the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office as a felony attempted robbery as opposed to the lesser charge of battery.
The Daily Mail Online reports:
“The case has been transferred to the Los Angeles Police Department’s Robbery-Homicide Division for investigation, as police suspect West committed an attempted robbery when he struck the photographer and tried to take his camera. Prosecutors will ultimately decide which charges will be filed, if any.”
