After four previous nominations, the late Donna Summer has finally gotten the recognition she deserves from the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. On Tuesday, a new class of legendary artists were announced after nominees were voted on by more than 600 artists, historians and industry members.
Summer joins Public Enemy, Albert King, Heart, Randy Newman and Rush in the performer category, while Quincy Jones and Lou Adler will receive the Ahmet Ertegun Award that is given to non-performers.

To be eligible for the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, artists must have released their work at least 25 years prior to appearing on the ballot; hip-hop group Public Enemy finally made the cut this year.
The 28th annual Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony will take place at the Nokia Theater in Los Angeles on April 18 and HBO will air the event on May 18 at 9 p.m.
Congratulations to the inductees!
