Kerry Washington was fierce as she spoke on behalf of President Barack Obama at this year’s Democratic National Convention in Charlotte. Not too long after, the obviously informed actress opened up a can of whup ass on a Republican pundit on “Real Time with Bill Maher.”
Ironically, she plays a high powered political fixer in a fictitious White House each week, and this December will be on the big screen as a slave in Quentin Tarantino’s Django Unchained with Jamie Foxx and Leonardo DiCaprio.
Washington notes one’s story is not more important than the other. “I don’t think it’s about your occupation, it’s about your humanity,” says Washington. “I don’t think anyone’s journey is any more important than someone else’s.”
