Out of six actors (and a choice of “none of them”), Denzel Washington came out top as the man to play the holy role. With 21 percent of the vote, the 57-year-old actor beat out Daniel Day-Lewis, Al Pacino, Ryan Gosling, Woody Allen and Philip Seymour Hoffman. Fifteen percent of the respondents voted “none of them.”

The magazine also asked its readers questions such as “Do you have a public-library card?” (55 percent answered “Have card and know where it is”) and “Which holiday movie is the most overplayed?” (23 percent answered “A Christmas Story”).

Seeing as Washington is grew up in the church (his father was a Pentecostal preacher) and he admits to reading the Bible every day, the Academy Award winner would already have a leg up on the competition.
