A 9-year-old girl accidentally shot a shooting instructor Monday in Arizona. The surprising death came around 10 a.m. after the instructor taught the girl how to use an automatic Uzi, while at the Arizona Last Stop gun range in White Hills.
The young girl shot the powerful weapon, and fatally wounded Charles Vacca, 39, in the head. The tragic incident was captured on cell phone cameras by the girl’s parents, who were recording the tutorial.
The Mohave County Sheriff’s Department have determined that the recoil force sent the “weapon over her head,” which shot the bullets in Vacca’s direction. He was taken to a Las Vegas hospital, but later died around 9 p.m. that evening.
This is the first incident of its kind to occur at the outdoor gun range, which has been in operation for almost 13 years. Vacca (pictured left) had been an instructor for 18 months, and both he and Arizon Last Stop had a clean incident record.
The 9-year-old girl, whose name was not released, may never want to touch a gun again after the traumatic and unfortunate accidental killing.
