The Fourth of July is a day of barbecues, outdoor festivals, concerts, and more but it looks like this year Mother Nature is trying to rain on our parade – literally. A storm is brewing in south Florida, by the name of Arthur, and is working its way up the coast. It’s expected to hit Florida, Georgia, North Carolina, and go all the way to Maine.
Right now, Arthur is being classified as a tropical storm, but it’s expected to become a Category 1 hurricane by Thursday. People should expect rain between today and late tomorrow evening. For those planning to make a getaway by car – be careful – as the road conditions may be hazardous.
Meteorologists are saying that the storm should be over by Friday evening and if not, definitely by Saturday. If this is true, our Fourth of July firework shows won’t be impacted and the rest of our three day weekends will be intact as planned. Let’s hope for the best…but have your Plan B and umbrellas ready for Hurricane Arthur just in case.
