Kanye WestRapper Kanye West gets probation after entering a “no contest” plea Monday on charges of misdemeanor battery against a photographer. A no contest plea is treated the same as a guilty plea for purposes of sentencing.

As a result, the Yeezus artist must serve two years probation, in addition to 250 hours of community service and 24 anger management sessions. Judge Alan Rubin ordered West to pay the victim restitution, and will review his community service to avoid any special treatment.

However, photographer Daniel Ramos isn’t satisfied with the verdict, he wanted the controversial rapper jailed. “I was only doing my job, and he broke the law,” Ramos said. “I believe that if I did what he did to me, I would have been put behind bars.”

West was caught on camera rushing Ramos, attempting to wrestle his camera out of his hands. After about 15 seconds of tussling, West retreated. “I simply asked him a question, and I didn’t use any vulgar language,” Ramos told the judge Monday. “In fact, I gave him a compliment and told him that he was cool.”

On behalf of the victim, celebrity attorney Gloria Allred has filed a civil suit against West.
