Harris-Perry’s apology came amidst backlash she received on behalf of guests joking about Mitt Romney‘s adopted Black grandson Kieran. She later apologized for the comments on-air and online.
Coulter, while on “The Sean Hannity Show,” said, “It’s particularly good having Harris-Perry of all people making fun of a Black child in the Romney family as a token.” She went on, “What does she think she is at MSNBC?”
The shocking statement came as a surprise to Hannity, who disagreed and added that there are “plenty” of Black anchors on MSNBC including Al Sharpton.
Those continuing in the backlash and smear campaign against Harris-Perry have seemingly ignored the fact that her apology was accepted by Romney over the weekend. This appears to be another attempt by right-wing supporters attacking left-wingers and using an isolated incident to vilify Harris-Perry and to muddy the waters about real issues concerning the nation today.
