The “Black Skinhead” rapper has officially been charged with misdemeanor battery and attempted grand theft for a July 19 incident with a celebrity photographer as Los Angeles International Airport. Daniel Ramos alleges West punched him during an unprovoked scuffle and wrestled his camera to the ground.
City attorney’s spokesman Frank Mateljan said West was charged on Friday. His arraignment has been set for Oct. 10, but isn’t required to appear if he has an attorney. That will likely be the case with a newborn at home and a new tour on the horizon.
Each charge carries a penalty of up to six months in jail or a $1,000 fine.
