A jury of six women found George Zimmerman not guilty on charges of second degree murder.
After two weeks of proceedings, 56 witnesses, and almost 16 hours of deliberations, the verdict was announced in the courtroom, shortly before 10:20pm on Saturday evening. George Zimmerman’s stoic face relaxed slightly, and a he offered a small smile as he shook hands with his legal team.
Twitter timelines exploded swiftly, united in disbelief. Amongst the most notable reactions were those from celebs, some of whom relayed particularly raw, uncensored musings:

Had a gun-toting Trayvon Martin stalked an unarmed George Zimmerman, and then shot him to death… DO I EVEN NEED TO COMPLETE THIS SENTENCE?

This is not "only" about race. This is about laws that allow racist acts to go unpunished. We must change laws that promote injustice

— Sophia Bush (@SophiaBush) July 14, 2013
Nobody knows what really happened except trayvon and Zimmerman. The justice system relies on reasonable doubt not our emotions.
— Lupe Fiasco (@LupeFiasco) July 14, 2013
George Zimmerman knew nothing of Trayvon's character, only his color. Race is real. Color can get you killed.
