Los Angeles Lakers coach Mike Brown has reportedly been fired after a 1-4 star to the season, according to ESPN.

On Friday, sources said his job would be in jeopardy if the team did not perform well in their upcoming challenges. Unfortunately, the decision to cut Brown couldn’t wait any longer. ESPN.com reports:

“Earlier Friday, sources had told ESPN.com’s Marc Stein that the team was using its upcoming six-game homestand to evaluate Brown, but after numerous discussion over the past 48 hours, Lakers management came to a unanimous decision that the team wasn’t heading in the right direction.

The Lakers have had a healthy Steve Nash in the lineup for only 1½ of their five games so far thanks to a leg injury, while fellow newcomer Dwight Howard has acknowledged that he’s still recovering from the back surgery that brought a premature end to his 2011-12 campaign and knocked him out of the London Olympics. Kobe Bryant has also been playing through a foot ailment.”

The Lakers are off the worst start in the Western Conference despite their power moves during the off-season. The team will square off against the Golden State Warriors Friday night in Los Angeles.

CIA Director David Petraeus has resigned his position, citing personal reasons and an extramarital affair.

“Yesterday afternoon, I went to the White House and asked the president to be allowed, for personal reasons, to resign from my position as D/CIA,” he said in the statement. “After being married for over 37 years, I showed extremely poor judgment by engaging in an extramarital affair. Such behavior is unacceptable, both as a husband and as the leader of an organization such as ours. This afternoon, the president graciously accepted my resignation.”

Petraeus, a former Army general who led the surge into Iraq under former President Bush and also led U.S. troops in Afghanistan before taking over the CIA, is one of the most respected and influential generals of his time. His wife, Holly, has worked with the Obama administration to help military families.

Major Harris, former member of the Delfonics, has died at the age of 65 in Richmond, Virginia.  Harris is best-known for the 1975 hit “Love Won’t Let Me Wait.”

Harris passed away on Friday morning from congestive heart and lung failure after being taken to the hospital. Catherine Thomas, Harris’s sister, confirmed reports with the Associated Press.

Harris was born February 9, 1947. Thomas says, music played a major part in his life at a very young age. She shared memories of her brother: “In his teens, Harris was tall for his age and was able to get into clubs to watch musicians perform,” she said. “He always appeared to be older, which gave him a lot of ins to a lot of older places.”

This is where Harris began pursuing his music career.  Thomas explained, music “was his life.”

Harris was a member of many popular music groups in the 1960s, such as Frankie Lymon’s Teenagers, the Charmers, and Nat Turner’s Rebellion.

Harris joined the Delfonics in the early 1970s, where he replaced Randy Cain. The soulful group is well-known for their hits “La-La (Means I Love You)” and “Didn’t I (Blow Your Mind This Time).”

He later left the group in 1974 to pursue a solo career. He released several R&B singles, including “Love Won’t Let Me Wait,” which peaked at No. 5 in the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 chart.  According to Thomas, one of Harris’s final performances was at a Delfonics reunion show in 2011.

CNN’s Don Lemon and actor-comedian Jonah Hill are the latest–and probably most unlikely–pair to launch a Twitter war. Lemon aired his gripe with Hill on CNN’s Starting Point on Friday morning.

Lemon explained to the morning roundtable, the fight began Thursday night when he posted a remark on Twitter saying, “Said hi to @jonahhill in hotel. Think he thought i was bellman. Didn’t know his name til bellman told me. A lesson to always be kind.”

According to CNN, Hill responded with a tweet that he later deleted stating: “@DonLemonCNN I said hi what do you want me to do move in with you? I was in a hurry. Didn’t realize you were a 12 year old girl. Peace.”

Lemon, who is openly gay, responded: “Hardly. You’re not my type. But I know rude. And u were.”

Keeping the momentum going, Hill ended the Twitter spat with: “@DonLemonCNN i walked out of the restroom and found you waiting for me. Shook hands, said hi and was on my way. Sorry if you found that rude.”

Lemon insisted, it was Hill’s impolite actions that peeved him, more so than being mistaken for the hotel help.

Hill, on the other hand, appears to be more interested in other matters. He is currently filming “The Wolf of Wall Street” with director Martin Scorsese.

Trouble seems to follow Katt Williams. The 39-year-old comedian is being sued by his female assistant for 5 million dollars.

His assistant, Melissa Ishage, claims Williams hit her and filed the lawsuit in L.A. County Superior Court, according to TMZ.

Ishage said, while at Williams’s home on October 6th, he attacked her–punching her and causing her “serious and permanent injuries.” The attorney for Ishage said, Williams hit her in the head and knocked her to the ground. Police responded to the incident, but no one was arrested. It is currently under investigation.

So far, Ishage hasn’t said why Williams allegedly attacked her. But, she insists she had to receive hospital treatment for her injuries and 5 million dollars should be shelled out. According to TMZ, representatives for Williams are keeping quiet.

Brandon and Connor Moore, the Staten Island brothers swept out of their mother’s arms as they tried to escape Hurricane Sandy, were buried on Friday.

The young boys – one with curly red hair and the other with brown curls – were laid to rest in the same casket. Parents Damien, a sanitation worker, and Glenda clung to each other as they watched their small white casket with gold trim being carried down the steps of St. Rose of Lima Church in Brooklyn.

Fr. Peter Colapietro, the sanitation department’s chaplain, told the grieving parents that the boys were “held securely in God’s embrace for now and all eternity.”

While there was no mention of the neighbors who refused Glenda’s cries for help as she searched for her boys, thoughts of this hung in the backs of people’s minds.

Moore’s neighbor, Steven Vitale, said “this should never have happened.”

“They were the sweetest little things,” he said of the toddlers. “This is the best family you could ever have met. This is the worst family that this could happen to. It’s heartbreaking.”

On October 29, Glenda - a nurse at Lutheran Medical Center – packed her boys up in the family SUV and set out for her sister’s house in Brooklyn to escape the storm.  The vehicle stalled in the rising waters and as the frantic mother freed the boys from their car seats, a wave overtook her and snatched them from her grasp.  She pounded on a few doors along Father Capodanno Boulevard in a futile attempt to get help and spent the night huddled on a doorstep before flagging down an emergency the following morning.

When the Moores returned to the scene of the tragedy the morning after, Glenda angrily confronted the man who refused her. “I asked you to help me, you bastard!” she screamed at the man, according to Irish Central.

She approached the man in a rage and had to be restrained by police officers, said another neighbor, George Calve, 63.  The man maintains that he thought he was being robbed.

Glenda’s sister told NY Daily News, “My sister’s like 5-foot-3, 130 pounds. She looks like a little girl. She’s going to come to you and you’re going to slam the door in her face and say, ‘I don’t know you, I can’t help you’?'”

The boys’ bodies were found on November 1.

The votes are finally counted. According to the official tally, President Barack Obama has beat Mitt Romney in Florida, bringing the four-day count to a close.

As a result, “Obama garners the state’s 29 electoral votes, for a national total of 332 votes to Romney’s 206 votes,” according to NBC News.

According to the Florida Secretary of State’s Office, with nearly all votes accounted for, President Obama led Mitt Romney 50 percent to 49.1 percent, which is a difference of about 74,000 votes. This total surpassed the percent margin where a recount would have been ordered automatically.

The November 16th deadline for overseas and military ballots still stands. However under Florida law, “recounts are based on Saturday’s results,” NBC explains. “Only a handful of overseas and military ballots are believed to remain outstanding.”

Securing the win in Florida gave President Obama victories in eight out of nine swing states. He lost the state of North Carolina. But in addition to Florida, he won Ohio, Iowa, New Hampshire, Wisconsin, Virginia, Colorado and Nevada.

The states include Louisiana, Texas, Kentucky, Michigan, Colorado, New Jersey, Montana, Missouri, North Dakota, Indiana, Tennessee, Mississippi, South Carolina, North Carolina, Alabama, Florida, Georgia, New York, Arkansas, and Oregon.

According to the terms of participation for “We The People,” as of October 3, 2011, petitions that meet the listed criteria become searchable on WhiteHouse.gov once — and if — they reach 150 signatures within 30 days. If that is accomplished, for President Obama to actively consider a petition, it must reach 25,000 signatures within the remainder of the same 30-day period.

PEOPLE reports the 34-year-old actress welcomed Aden John Tanner Housley on Monday at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles.

The little guy took his time making his debut into the world, arriving two weeks after his Oct. 30 due date. Aden, the couple’s first child, weighed in at 9 lbs., 5 oz. and is 21.5 inches long.

“Adam and I feel very blessed to finally be holding our son, he is a beautiful miracle, and our hearts are overflowing with love. Thank you to everyone for your love and support. It means so much to our family,” Tamera told Style.

Tia Mowry-Hardrict took no time to congratulate her sister and point out her new title as aunt.

“Yay!!! I can finally now say!  I am an auntie!!!! Can we say chunk munk!!!,” she tweeted on Tuesday. “So happy & blessed! Cree now has a play date! He is beaituful [sic]!”

*UPDATE: New York Times reporter Brian Stelter says Kevin Clash’s accuser has recanted his allegation of an underage sexual relationship. NYT states:

Andreozzi & Associates, a law firm that said it represented the accuser, who has never been named, said in a statement that “he wants it to be known that his sexual relationship with Mr. Clash was an adult consensual relationship.” The statement added, “He will have no further comment on the matter.”

The accuser’s identity has not been disclosed.

Mr. Clash said through a spokesman: “I am relieved that this painful allegation has been put to rest. I will not discuss it further.”

New details continue to emerge in the shocking sex scandal involving longtime Elmo puppeteer Kevin Clash, 52, and his 23-year-old accuser who claims their sexual relationship occurred while he was an underage teen boy.

Sources close to Sesame Workshop say the possible “lovers’ quarrel” could simply be a ploy for financial gain, but the devastating claims against Clash will make his return to Sesame Street “highly unlikely.”

“In fact, unless things suddenly move in Kevin’s direction right away, and he is proven to be a victim of an ugly smear — rather than an adult sexual predator of a minor — he is finished in the world of children’s entertainment,” a source told Bill Zwecker of the Chicago Sun-Times.

Racy emails between Clash and his accuser were leaked early Tuesday morning shedding more light on the scandal.

“I’m sorry that I keep talking about sex with you, it’s driving me insane,” Clash writes in an email reportedly sent after the accuser turned 18. “[...] I want you to know that I love you and I will never hurt you. I’m here to protect you and make sure your dreams come true.”

He continued, “I’ll have my assistant book a ticket for you to come to NY and we can talk about this in person.”

On Monday, Clash began his leave of absence to deal with the accuser’s allegations. While his reputation and future with the children’s program hang in the balance, the famed puppeteer maintains his innocence.

“I am a gay man. I have never been ashamed of this or tried to hide it, but felt it was a personal and private matter,” Clash told NBC News in a statement.

“I had a relationship with the accuser. It was between two consenting adults and I am deeply saddened that he is trying to characterize it as something other than what it was. I am taking a break from Sesame Workshop to deal with this false and defamatory allegation.”

Clash’s accuser is being represented by Andreozzi and Associates, the same firm that represented one of the victims in the Jerry Sandusky sexual abuse scandal.

Earlier today, video of yet another bus driver and passenger fist fight was posted on YouTube.

This incident, which took place yesterday in Baltimore, shows a wild tussle between a female driver in uniform and a female teen. CBS Baltimore reports the blow up happened around 2pm Monday afternoon around Baltimore and Paca streets.

Another passenger can be heard saying, “Yes it’s a bus driver and girl fighting.”

In the clip, the girl is seen repeatedly punching the driver, while being jerked by her hair across several rows of the bus.

The  intro for this video suggests the reason for the altercation:

“Bus driver fights student because her music was too loud. BUS DRIVER HITS STUDENT FIRST!!… ”

The MTA bus driver is on suspension pending the results of the investigation.

Pumpkin Patch (Created by Jackson Cannon, Eastern Standard/The Hawthorne)

Ingredients

• 1 oz. pumpkin-infused The Glenrothes Select Reserve
• 1 oz. The King’s Ginger Liqueur
• 1/2 oz. fresh lemon juice
• 1/2 oz. maple syrup
• 1 egg white
• 1 mint sprig (for garnish)

Directions

1. To infuse the scotch, peel, clean, and cut small 2-by-2-inch pieces of sugar pumpkin, salt very lightly, and roast for about 20 minutes on 250 degrees. Add to scotch in a resealable container and let rest for two days. Strain off and re-bottle. Keep refrigerated.
2. Shake all ingredients over ice and strain into a chilled coupe glass.
3. Garnish with angostura bitters and a mint sprig.

50 Shades of Spey

Ingredients

• 1 1/4 oz. The Glenrothes Vintage 1998
• 3/4 oz. Earl Grey tea
• 1/2 oz. Italian vermouth (Cocchi Torino)
• 1/2 oz. Pages Poire Liqueur
• 1 dash aromatic bitters
• 1 dash orange bitters

Directions

1. Simply combine all ingredients, shake, and stir.

Sleepy Hollow Cocktail (Created by Kenneth McCoy, Ward III)

Ingredients

• 1 1/2 oz. Yamazaki 12 year Japanese single malt whisky
• 1/2 oz. Laird’s Applejack
• 1/2 oz. Gran Classico bitters
• 1 splash of St. Elizabeth Allspice Dram
• 1 splash of honey water
• 3 cloves

Directions

1. Mix all ingredients in a mixing glass, including cloves and ice.
2. Stir for 30 seconds. Pour into a chilled rocks glass, adding one large ice cube
   and a stick of cinnamon.

The annual event aims to provide money and mentoring to promising designers, which in the past have included Alexander Wang, Sophie Theallet, and Joseph Altuzarra.

After five months of evaluations and challenges, Greg Chait of the Elder Statesman went home with the top honor of the night. Not only was the L.A.-based label awarded $300,000 for further expansion, but the up-and-coming designer has also earned a yearlong mentorship with an industry veteran to help fine-tune his skills.

Jewelry label Jennifer Meyer and shoe designer Tabitha Simmons served as runners-up, but received $100,000 and a mentorship as well. Not bad.

As expected, Anna Wintour and Diane von Furstenberg were in attendance, along with Rachel Roy, Chanel Iman, Victor Cruz and others.

On the heels of her much-talked about nude cover, Rihanna was a showstopper in this little red Calvin Klein number for GQ’s Men of the Year Party at Chateau Marmont in Los Angeles.
