I’ve played on both sides of the fence. I’ve been the side chick and am currently the main the only chick. I am very aware of the expectations and behaviors associated with the roles… the rules if you will. When I watched VH1 reality show “Love & Hip Hop,” characters Emily B., Mimi Faust and Joseline Hernandez stood out to me because like I’ve mentioned, I’ve been there. How does one go from mistress to main? Well, that’s another story, but I will say, it was not without strife. A couple of years ago I was Joseline Hernandez. I just wanted my Stebbie no matter who it hurt and what it cost. My only concern was having him in my life, for a minute, an hour, a lustful night with his cellphone powered off… Then, the tables turned and the position I desperately craved became mine.
