- Sure, VH1 Divas is all about…well…the divas of music. But Ciara is bringing a certain “king” to Sunday night’s performance. Sources with the network say the One Woman Army will tribute Michael Jackson during her “Got Me Good” set. As many know, Ciara was/is heavily influenced by Jackson’s artistry so the end result is sure to be entertaining. She will be joined by Kelly Rowland, Melanie Fiona, Jordin Sparks, Keri Hilson and others as they celebrate the 2012 VH1 Divas, airing live this Sunday (Dec. 16) at 9/8c.
- Beyonce is bringing out the big guns for her fifth studio album. With The-Dream and Miguel already confirmed for the highly anticipated project, singer/songwriter Ne-Yo has also revealed his hand in the new music. “I’m actually about to do some stuff for Beyonce soon– she’s on her way back,” he told Billboard at Z-100′s Jingle Ball on Friday. So let’s recap: One new album, a Super Bowl halftime performance, a monstrous $50 million deal with Pepsi, an upcoming animated film and HBO documentary…did we miss anything? The Queen is back.
- It’s been a huge year for R&B newbie Elle Varner and she shows no signs of slowing down. On the heels of her first GRAMMY nomination (Best R&B Song – “Refill”), the 23-year-old singer is already at work on her second album. She recently sat down with The Grio to discuss her thoughts on upcoming artists (Luke James, Frank Ocean, etc.) ready to dominate the music scene. “The current class of R&B is like a volcano set to erupt,” she simply stated.
