As last night’s projections continued to roll in from key states such as Ohio and Iowa, the POTUS got the party started early with a series of tweets thanking the American people for their dedication and unwavering support.
“This happened because of you,” stated his official Twitter account. “We’re all in this together. That’s how we campaigned, and that’s who we are. Thank you.”
But it was Obama’s next message, a mere three words, that set the web ablaze and perfectly captured the incredible moment.
Within minutes, Obama took the top spot on Media Bistro’s All Twitter blog as the most retweeted tweet of all time, beating out Taylor Swift, Rihanna, Kim Kardashian and the King of 140 characters or less– Justin Bieber.
