George Lucas was short-changed in his proposed $4 billion deal with Disney to acquire LucasFilm and the “Star Wars” franchise. At least Samuel L. Jackson thinks so.
Ever outspoken, Jackson didn’t hesitate to speak up about the business deal in an impromptu interview with TMZ. The “Clone Wars” star outright said Lucas “got cheated.” TMZ paparazzo attempted to make a case for Disney saying, “That’s a lot of money!” To which Jackson replied, “It’s not a lot of money to some people.”
If Jackson wants to reprise his “Star Wars” role, perhaps it is best to keep his opinions to himself. But then again, has he ever?
Disney announced that Lucas will be kept as a creative consultant for “Episode 7” and future Star Wars sequels. Lucas also said if the deal goes through, he plans to donate most of the profit to charity. Either way, it looks like a win-win situation to us Sam.
