40 suits Gabrielle Union beautifully. Not only does the Being Mary Jane actress look fabulous for her age (see here), but her mindset on what she wants vs. what she needs in her life at the moment is admirable.In a recent interview with Just The Fab, Union handled those always-present marriage questions with ease as she discussed her relationship with Miami Heat star Dwyane Wade. The pair have been under constant media scrutiny since his divorce from ex-wife Siohvaughn Funches in 2007 that brought rumors of infidelity.
But the stories and false assumptions haven’t fazed the long-time couple. In fact, Wade and Union (previously married to retired football player Chris Howard) have used their missteps as lessons for the future. When asked about the possibility of marriage and children, Union replied:
“I mean, we like each other a lot and we both failed miserably the last time either one of us got married. So, I think we’re doing it slow, you know what I mean? I think when you rush in, then people got crap to say; if you go too slow people got stuff to say, so we gotta take it at the pace that’s great for us. But, who knows? I’m open to everything but, right now I just like saying ‘my boyfriend, my boyfriend, my boyfriend DWade.’ And then maybe later, provided my eggs aren’t dust. We’ll see what I can cough out.”
So, no marriage (or babies) just yet, but we can bet Union will be cheering for her man to get another kind of ring as Wade begins his ninth season with the Heat following a championship year.
