uptown_facebookrapistApparently, Facebook is not only good for social networking but catching criminals. A British man used Facebook to track down his wife’s alleged rapist, then beat him up before convincing his wife to report the alleged crime, the Telegraph reports.

The man questioned numerous friends via Facebook to find Andrew Marsh, the 27-year-old grocer, who allegedly raped his wife in 2001 when she was in school. He then acquired Marsh’s contact information under the guise of organizing a surprise party for his wife, stating that he needed to get in touch. According to reports, he then went to Marsh’s home and beat him up.

The alleged victim, whose name has not been revealed, told Maidstone County Court that the husband presented her with a choice after beating up the alleged rapist. She says, “He told me I had to call the police. Otherwise, he would be prosecuted for assault.”

Marsh has denied the rape charge and his trial is reportedly underway.
