Back in September, President Obama noted that he and Jay-Z could bond over a few similarities such as their young daughters and popular wives. But the fast friends also seem to share something far greater: hope for America’s future.

In a new video entitled ”The Power of Our Voice,” the Blueprint rapper stresses the importance of voting and collectively coming together to make our voices heard.
“For so long, there was this voice that was silenced out there as far as exercising your right to vote. I think it was a voice that was silent because people had lost hope. They didn’t believe that their voice mattered or counted,” Jay-Z said.

He continued, “Now, people are exercising their right and you are starting to see te power of our vote. [Obama] made it mean something for the first time for a lot of people. Having someone in office who understands how powerful our voice can be is very important.”
