When faced with questions about rape allegations, comedienne Bill Cosby went radio silent during a recent interview with NPR. The usually jovial Bill was left speechless when NPR host Scott Simon mentioned any word about the not so positive headlines surrounding the The Cosby Show star. Let’s just say things got awkward real fast.
“This question gives me no pleasure, Mr. Cosby, but there have been serious allegations raised about you in recent days,” asked the NPR host. “You’re shaking your head no. I’m in the news business. I have to ask the question. Do you have any response to those charges?”
According to the recorded interview, Cosby continued to shake his head no and remain mute on the subject.
The interview continues, “There are people who love you who might like to hear from you about this. I want to give you the chance.” Again, there was no response from Cosby.
This awkward exchange comes only one day after actress and former model Barbara Bowman wrote an op-ed piece for The Washington Post claiming she had non-consensual sexual encounters with Bill Cosby in the 1980s. Not to mention, Bill’s November 19th appearance on the “Late Show With David Letterman” has been cancelled. This is not the first time Cosby has withdrawn from an appearance amidst the shocking rape allegations. The first cancellation was announced in late October when he bowed out of the “The Queen Latifah Show”.
Things aren’t looking too good for Bill Cosby right now. In light of the new allegations and the cancelled show appearances, we hope he starts talking real soon.
