It worked for Beyonce. Now G-Unit is following in her footsteps by digitally releasing new music Monday.
The group consisting of 50 Cent, Lloyd Banks, Young Buck, Tony Yayo, and new member Kidd Kidd dropped “The Beauty of Independence” extended play at midnight. The move mirrors Beyonce’s surprise release of her self titled album last year.
G-Unit released the EP independently on the Caroline label.
For a group that’s been down the rocky river road before, what’s different this time?
50 Cent says the group is more mature and that has enhanced the creativity behind their new music. Group members said the fact that they are getting older played a huge part in their reuniting. Their hits include “Stunt 101,” and “Wanna Get to Know You.”
The group released T.O.S: Terminate on Sight in 2008 before disbanding.
Looks like 50 Cent has been busy in the studio and isn’t just posting challenges for Floyd Mayweather on Instagram.
