Selfies have taken over in recent years, but now the popular trend has a new title – killer.
A vacationing Polish family enjoyed the beautiful, breathtaking views of Cabo de Roca in Portugal over the weekend. The busy tourist attraction is not far from the capital, Lisbon, and is well known for its amazing cliff and ocean views. As any one would, in a world where smartphones and digital cameras are always on hand, the family decided to capture the moment with a selfie. It seemed very appropriate for the occasion.
The mother and father did not make it through the photo, though. Instead, they fell off the cliff to and plummeted to their unfortunate death. To make matters worse, their children witnessed the entire thing. The kids were taken by Polish diplomats for therapy and other care.
Officials have attributed the death directly to the dangerous selfie.
