Police in Long Island, New York are investigating after human body parts were scattered on lawns around one small town. Hempstead police say a woman’s severed head was found Thursday evening in the bushes outside of a Long Island home. The head was close to where two arms were found dumped last week.
Police are trying to determine if the body parts are linked to the disappearance of Brooklyn woman, Chinelle Latoya Brown. The 27-year-old mother of four was reported missing on July 5.
Last week, a Hempstead resident found a human arm with women’s clothing attached to it in his front yard, according to the New York Daily News. The next day, another resident found a human arm in their yard about a half mile away from the first one.
Police are looking into whether the arms are linked to the discovery of a partially dismembered body in a public parking lot. A tattoo found on the body matched one Brown had.
The head was removed to the Nassau County Medical Examiner’s office for further examination.
