Producer, writer, and filmmaker Tyler Perry will debut his second television drama on OWN: The Oprah Winfrey Network. The series, titled “If Loving You Is Wrong” shines with a diverse cast and twisting story lines. The nighttime drama will follow a group of married couples, who on the surface, lead normal lives, but are actually suffering through heartbreak, lies, and deceit.
“If Loving You is Wrong,” premiering on September 9 at 9 p.m. EST, will debut concurrently, with the first two installments premiering back to back.
Perry is no stranger to OWN, exclusively partnering with Oprah for distribution. “The Haves and the Have Nots,” Perry’s highly successful drama was dubbed by Variety as “OWN’s most popular series to date.” The drama, starring Tika Sumpter, has received acclaim as “one of OWN’s biggest success stories with its weekly dose of soapy fun, filled with the typical betrayals, affairs, manipulations and a bitch slap or two.”
Madea’s alter ego also wrote and produced “Love Thy Neighbor,” a sitcom that premiered on OWN in May 2013. After the show’s hiatus in early April, it resumed airing on June 25.
