Laverne Cox has earned herself a new gig! The “Orange is the New Black” actress has been winning this year, with recognition from Time and the GLAAD Awards. She has a strong fan base, and it seems like her fame will last much longer than 15 minutes.
Cox is now expanding her brand and is moving to Bravo as a guest star. The network known for its successful “Real Housewives” reality franchise is bringing a new kind of show to television. “Girlfriend’s Guide to Divorce” and will be the first scripted show for the network. The show will be based on novels written by Vicki Lovine.
Cox has been cast as an LGBTQ activist and war journalist by the name of Adele Northrop. She will star alongside Lisa Edelstein and James Le Gros. “Girlfriend’s Guide to Divorce” chronicles the life of a best-selling self-help author who is hiding her separation from her husband. As she navigates Los Angeles as a single woman in her 40s, the author begins to take more advice from her divorced friends, as opposed to her married ones, which leads her into some unexpected and life-altering experiences.
“Girlfriend’s Guide to Divorce” is set to air later this year.
