Usually when pop superstar Rihanna is photographed, she’s scantily clad or partially nude, with sheer outfits and revealing clothing. But her new Harper’s Bazaar Arabia July/August cover is quite the opposite, showing the “We Found Love” singer modestly dressed in traditional Middle Eastern clothing. With the cover story tag line, “The new modesty: how to cover up in style,” the island beauty’s couture, yet sexy looks are culturally chic.
The magazine posted a sneak peek of the cover and its high glamour spread yesterday on their Facebook page. The stunning images show the 26 year old dressed in couture head scarfs and veils, gold metallic face covering with henna printed hands.
For the cover, the pop star conceals her face according to Muslim tradition with a mesh veil, starting at the top of her head and tying at her neck in a giant bow.
In one shot, the “S&M” singer wears a full-length–though sheer on the bottom–emerald green dress with a bright cranberry-red hat. The final look features Rih-Rih in a sequined dress with matching shoes, gloves, and mask, Cat-woman style.
The magazine release date has not been revealed.
