Ladies Love Cool Jeremy, that is. The mugshot of a 30-year-old convicted felon has thousands of women swooning across the country. Jeremy Meeks was arrested Wednesday during a gang sweep in Stockton, California and faces weapons charges and one gang charge. Authorities seized four guns, two rifles, a handgun, and a shotgun as part of their Operation Ceasefire mission to combat the increase in gun violence and robberies in the Stockton area. Police say Meeks is one of the most violent criminals in the Stockton area. However, that little blip on the radar isn’t stopping the social media fan club from ogling the tatted-up, gray-eyed, convicted felon. As of Friday morning his mug shot on the Stockton Police Facebook page had over 55,000 likes, nearly 6,300 shares, and over 16,000 comments.
Here’s a sample of the comments:
“I don’t care what you did. I know what we could do together.”
“My Clyde…… I’m His Bonnie!!!”
“Girls let’s bring this guy to Hollywood he needs to be in fast and furious.”
“U got arrested cuz U are not a good criminal. .it is not working out …come home I make u a meal …gorgeous.”
One user has set up a Facebook fan page for Meeks, while another created a funding campaign called “Bring Bae Home Campaign” to help put money toward his $900,000 bail. Of course, not everyone is amused by the felon’s exploding popularity.
Many find it disgusting, especially because it’s happening on the Stockton Police Department’s Facebook page, which also remembers a recently fallen officer.
“Some of the women on here are pathetic. It’s a mugshot photo. Not GQ Magazine.”
“You wouldn’t think he’s so cute, or good looking when he had that gun pointed at your head, or someone else’s face!!!”
Despite the differences of opinion, one thing remains true, Meeks remains behind bars in Stockton, California.
