Surprise! It’s been a while since you’ve heard Michelle Williams, Kelly Rowland, and Beyoncé sing new material together. It’s been even longer since the trio has filmed a music video for said material. Well, Beyoncé and Kelly Rowland joined “sister” Michelle for her “Say Yes” music video. The song, an uplifting tune, is a part of Michelle’s upcoming solo release, Journey to Freedom.
The ladies sing:
“I’m not worried ‘bout a thing
‘Cause I know you are guiding me
Where you lead me, Lord I will go
I have no fear ’cause I know who’s in control”
Kelly rocks her signature short ‘do and sings the bridge, while Beyoncé holds down the second verse, wearing her summer blonde cornrows for the video. Michelle stuns with honey tresses in “Say Yes.”
For such sultry divas, it may be surprising to hear the three belt lyrics with a religious context. However, it’s definitely a reminder of where the ladies came from, as Destiny’s Child began from a biblical quote.
There are no plans for a full-length album effort from Destiny’s Child, but for fans, this will surely satiate their appetites for now. Michelle’s album, Journey to Freedom, is due later this year.
