Oscar winner Lupita Nyong’o may still be basking in the glow of her glory after being named People magazine’s most beautiful person of 2014, but more good news for the star has arrived!
The actress has been cast by The Jungle Book director Jon Favreau in his upcoming adaptation of the book by Rudyard Kipling.
Scarlett Johansson has also been commissioned to star in the film.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Nyong’o will appear in the film as Rakcha, a mother wolf who adopts a young human boy named Mowgli, while Johansson will voice the role of Kaa, a python who hypnotizes and eats other animals. The villainous tiger Shere Khan will be voiced by Idris Elba.
The part of Mowgli has yet to be cast.
Lupita is also rumored to have a role in the upcoming remake of George Lucas‘ “Star Wars: Episode VII.”
