It’s safe to say Oprah Winfrey had a better experience at Sunday’s Academy Awards than her first trip back in 1986.

After receiving the Jean Hersholt Humanitarian Award last night, the media mogul headed to Jimmy Kimmel Live to discuss her newest accolade. But Winfrey also gave a horrific, yet hilarious, account of attending the 58th Annual Academy Awards in which she was nominated for The Color Purple.
“When I went to the Oscars, it was one of the most horrible nights of my life [...] because I had used Dolly Parton’s dressmaker,” she admitted.

Oprah recalled being so uncomfortable in her gown that she prayed someone else would win Best Supporting Actress because she didn’t think she could physically get up. As the story goes, her prayers were answered.
