A 2-year-old boy was cut by a dozen razor blades glued to park equipment in Illinois. The incident occurred on Monday at Millennium Park in East Moline, 150 miles west of Chicago.
Police found 12 razor blades glued to various objects in the park. The toddler’s father, who was with him in the park at the time of injury, treated his wounds at home. Police reportedly did not find any more of the razor blades during a search of the city’s other 14 parks.
East Moline Police Lt. Brian Foltz told WGN-TV that investigators were not sure how long the razor blades had been planted in the playgrounds.
No arrests were immediately made.
Anyone with information about the incident is asked to contact Capt. John Reynolds at (309) 752-1552 or Crime Stoppers of the Quad Cities at (309) 762-9500.
