A star Minnesota football player was killed over the weekend while fleeing a party where underage drinking occurred.
The 18-year-old high school athlete, named Michael C. Anyasike, of Dawson, MN., was found nearly 12 hours after police broke up the party. The teen was transported to the Madison Hospital by ambulance where he was later pronounced dead.
Anyasike was described as very likable and pleasant to be around.
When the police arrived to the party early Sunday, March 9, Anyasike and a few other party goers ran. He was reported missing to the sheriff’s office 12 hours later.
Anyasike also ran track at his high school. No arrests have been made.
A prayer service for Anyasike is being organized at Grace Lutheran Church in Dawson.
