Leonardo DiCaprio, Jonah Hill and Q-Tip are set to collaborate for a hip hop television series. The project will be loosely based on rapper Q-Tip’s musical career, highlighting industry friendships and musical accolades. The series will showcase musical heavyweights A Tribe Called Quest, De La Soul and The Native Tongues Collective, the New York based hip-hop group Q-Tip founded with friends in the 80′s. The trio’s show will touch on the groups’ friendship and how their music influenced younger rappers.

This Hollywood line up is complete with a Grammy winner, Golden Globe winners and Academy Award nominees. Hill and DiCaprio are the current stars of Martin Scorsese’s The Wolf On Wall Street, a three hour flick about Wall Street scumbags.  For his portrayal of notorious stockbroker Jordan Belfort, DiCaprio recently won a Golden Globe for Best Actor in a Motion Picture (Comedy or Musical).

DiCaprio and Q-Tip are long time friends and DiCaprio’s production company, Appian Way, will produce the series. There are currently no assigned writers and the project is rumored to be pitched to networks this week.
