UPTOWN_rick_rossMiami rapper Rick Ross won’t be party rockin’ anytime soon. The “Devil Is A Lie” rapper and production team The Runners are suing pop duo LMFAO for copyright infringement for their 2010 smash hit, “Party Rock Anthem,” according to the Hollywood Reporter.

The song repeatedly uses the line, “Everyday I’m shufflin’,” in the same manner Ross raps, “Everyday I’m hustlin’” in his 2006 breakout track “Hustlin’.” The lawsuit alleges the line is a part of the prominent, super catchy hook as an obvious attempt to capitalize off Ross’ song. The “Party Rock Anthem” has sold over 7.5 million copies and has been used in numerous advertisements and commercials. Ross’ camp is seeking maximum statutory damages.

Ross recently celebrated a legal victory against former drug kingpin Freeway Ricky Ross, after Freeway sued him for adopting his name and likeness. The case, after an appeal, was dismissed, citing the First Amendment.
