We’re happy to cross yet another couple off our 2013 “Nuptials & Nurseries” list with the union of John Legend and Chrissy Teigen!
According to PEOPLE, the couple tied the knot Saturday (Sept. 14) in Lake Como, Italy in front of a crowd of close friends and family. Legend and Teigen dated for more than seven years before getting engaged in 2011 while vacationing together in the Maldives.
The Sports Illustrated swimsuit model donned a strapless ivory Vera Wang gown with an open back, lifted tulle skirt and hand-cut petal embroidered details. And the icing on the wedding cake? Teigen changed into two other Vera Wang creations for the reception and after party.
Earlier this year, Legend told UPTOWN, “I am looking forward to having kids and growing old together. That’s why we are doing it, because we intend to stay together forever. We have already been together for quite some time. It’s been great. I have learned a lot about myself, and hopefully we will continue to grow. [...] She is beautiful, smart, and hilarious. She has a great heart and we have great chemistry.”
Legend reportedly serenaded his bride with his new song “All Of Me,” written for Teigen and featured on his latest album Love In The Future.
“He writes a lot of love songs, but this one is specifically about me so it makes it more special,” she told PEOPLE. “My Dad even cries when I play it for him in the car.”
The pair will return back to the Maldives for their honeymoon.
