Arizona teen Jonathan Buchanan deserves the little brother of the year award two times over.  He donated his bone marrow to his older, identical twin brothers Josh and Jordan to cure them of sickle-cell anemia.

Sickle-cell anemia is a painful, hereditary disease that attacks the body’s red blood cells. Remarkably, Jonathan was a perfect match for his brothers. According to BeTheMatch.org, siblings are only 25 percent likely to be donor matches, so the fact that Jonathan was able to save his two brothers is truly amazing.

Jordan donated to Josh last year and he is now completely cured. Jordan underwent the procedure Wednesday and is expected to be cured, as well.

“When he was younger, he used to have this stuffed animal, a dog, and he would bandage the tail and patch the eye and take care of it,” said the boys’ mother Katherine Buchanan to The Arizona Republic. “I used to joke that he’d be a doctor. He would say he was going to find a cure for sickle-cell anemia.

“Now he is the cure.”
