UPTOWN_chris_brownThis has been quite the week for Breezy …

Earlier this week Chris Brown‘s probation, stemming from his sentence in the Rihanna assault, was revoked as a result of his alleged hit-and-run accident in May. (Don’t worry fans, he remains free.)

And then recently, four sponsors, citing Chris’ on-going legal troubles, pulled out of the Energy Rush summer music festival he is set to headline in Halifax, Nova Scotia in August. There was also public outcry when Chris’ performance was announced and three other artists have also pulled out.

Halifax Mayor Mike Savage also isn’t in the angry singer’s corner:

“I’m not a big fan of his behavior in the past, obviously … This is an arrangement that’s been made contractually between Alderney Landing [the venue], the radio station, the promoter and with Chris Brown … I wish I’d had some input in it beforehand. I think I would have given a fairly strong opinion, but the fact is he’s been booked and there are now legal obligations. I don’t like it and I hope people vote with their wallet.”

But Breezy’s team thinks the sponsors, the public, the other artists, the mayor – basically everyone – are the ones with the problem. An unnamed representative had this to say to “E! News”: “It’s a shame that some people are so short-sighted and uninformed. Chris is an award-winning artist whose goal is to inspire and entertain.” The rep also added that Chris is learning from his past and continuing to grow and is still looking forward to his performance at the Energy Rush festival.
