No-so-stealth bigotry is all the way live in 2013.
Sanford, FL – stomping grounds of Trayvon Martin and George Zimmerman – is back on the map for another unfortunate incident, this time involving a pizza delivery man and a Black customer.
On May 19, the delivery guy called the home to confirm he was at the correct location. After handing off the pizza and leaving the premises, he mistakenly re-dialed the same number. The voicemail captured a slur-ridden conversation with a third-party, which included complaints about his (21%) tip, homespun lyrics to Mozart’s The Marriage of Figaro and a little bit of the Dozens.
The voicemail was uploaded to WorldStarHipHop on May 26. The next day, John Schnatter, Chairman and CEO of Papa John’s, apologized via Facebook for the deplorable actions of the chain’s “two former employees.”
