Talk about a hell date…
A 21-year-old Florida woman was left single and without a vehicle after being held up by gunpoint while on a casual outing with an acquaintance.
Nimeha Milien says she agreed to go on a first date with Donald Bernard McGee Jr., 19, after exchanging text messages Friday evening. While they had never met in person, Milien picked up McGee and drove to Ocean Inlet Park in Palm Beach Country where they spent the next few hours chatting.
“We sat there. We spoke. Nothing wrong happened,” she told WPBF. “It was like normal, all conversation.”
The seemingly uneventful date ended in a Wendy’s parking lot where Milien thought her date was getting picked up by his brother. Instead, McGee pulled out a gun, demanded her to get out of the car and sped off. Milien ran to a nearby gas station for help.
Police eventually caught up with the culprit after an eight-mile chase down I-95. McGee told authorities that it was Milien who had carjacked him, but could not explain why he didn’t stop on the highway or the .380-caliber Kel Tec handgun found in the car’s center console.
He was arrested Friday and booked into the Palm Beach County jail on Saturday. He faces charges of carjacking with a firearm, marijuana possession, fleeing police, driving without a valid license and robbery with a firearm.
McGee is being held on $15,000 bail.
