Not to downplay the MANY accolades Viola Davis and Octavia Spencer have already scored this awards season, but the pair have now been nominated by the big dogs: The Academy Awards.

Davis has, yet again, been nominated for Best Actress as Aibileen Clark in The Help. She’s up against veteran Meryl Streep (The Iron Lady), Rooney Mara (Girl With The Dragon Tattoo), Michelle Williams (A Week With Marilyn) and Glenn Close (Albert Nobbs).
Spencer, who recently won a Golden Globe, is up for Best Supporting Actress. Fellow The Help actress Jessica Chastain, Melissa McCarthy (Bridesmaids), Janet McTeer (Albert Nobbs) and Bérénice Bejo in (The Artist) are also nominated.
The Help collected four nominations, including the coveted Best Picture.
The 84th Annual Academy Awards will air live Sunday, Feb. 26th at 7 p.m. ET on ABC.
