Lil Wayne is reportedly resting comfortably at home after spending six days in the hospital following a serious health scare that landed him in the intensive care unit.
On Monday, Young Money Entertainment president and fellow rapper Jermaine “Mack Maine” Preyan sent out announcement via Twitter, stating the multiplatinum artist had been released from Cedars-Sinai hospital in Los Angeles where he was admitted last Tuesday.
“Thanks to Cedar Sinai for everything!!! @LilTunechi has been officially been released and is headed home….God is great,” Mack Maine said.
Bryan “Birdman” Williams, co-founder of Cash Money Records, called into The Angie Martinez Show to confirm that Wayne had only one seizure and was never discharged last week, as reported. Williams acknowledged Wayne’s previous seizures as well.
He also cleared up any and all rumors.
“It didn’t have nothing to do with drugs,” Williams said in the radio interview. “No such thing like that. It’s how hard he works. How much dedication he gives to his music and his fans. It had nothing to do with drugs. No such thing like that, to me. It was nothing about no drugs. Just needs to get some rest and relax. He’ll be back, normal like everyone else.”
