Derek Luke is the newest addition to CBS’s drama pilot Second Sight starring Jason Lee, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
The hopeful series, based on the U.K. television spot by Paula Milne, centers on Detective Ross Tanner (Lee) who suddenly suffers an autoimmune virus that causes hallucinations reflective of his subconscious, which interferes with his investigations.

The Baggage Claim actor will reportedly take on the role of Detective Paul Giroux, an “eager-beaver know-it-all, trying to assert an authority that he hasn’t earned and doesn’t yet possess.” The overly-confident team member is new on the job and is gunning for Tanner’s top spot.
The lovely Jill Scott will join the cast as Dr. Callier, an optometrist who tends to Tanner’s ocular disease.
Kim Dickens, Erik Jensen and Madison Moellers will also co-star, with Homeland‘s Michael Cuesta and his brother Gerald Cuesta serving as writers.
