Taye Diggs took on a heroic role Sunday night as he apprehended a home intruder at his L.A. residence shortly after returning from the Screen Actors Guild Awards.
The 42-year-old actor reportedly spotted Hassan Juma, 20, upon entering his home with wife Idina Menzel around 11 p.m. Diggs then confronted the man who took off running, but was chased down by the Private Practice star and held until police arrived on the scene.
Law enforcement sources said there was an accomplice in a getaway car, but he/she left the suspect to fend for himself.
No injuries were reported and Juma was booked on suspicion of burglary.
End scene.
Diggs was a presenter at Sunday’s event for Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Drama Series, which went to Claire Danes for her role in Homeland.
