Alicia Keys is scheduled to perform the national anthem at Super Bowl XLVII in New Orleans on Feb. 3, according to the Associated Press.
An anonymous source close to the event’s entertainment planning confirmed the performance on Friday, although the NFL has yet to make the official announcement.
The addition of Keys only builds the anticipation surrounding the big game. In October, the league announced that Beyonce would take the stage during the halftime show and it is reported she will be joined by fellow Destiny’s Child members, Kelly Rowland and Michelle Williams.
Of course, none of this is to be overshadowed by the football. This year’s Super Bowl teams will be determined on Sunday, when the 49s play the Falcons, and the Ravens go head-to-head with the Patriots.
