Instead of announcing the 2015 Grammy Award nominations during a prime time concert, the nominations reveal is now an all-day event. After the initial TV announcement, more nominees rolled out on Twitter, with the hashtag, #Grammys.
British breakout star Sam Smith holds the most nominations so far with five, while industry vets like Taylor Swift, Beyoncé, and Pharrell Williams are also nominated.
Beyoncé was nominated for Best Urban Contemporary album for the surprise self-titled video album, Beyoncé, along with Pharrell Williams for Girl, which features his smash hit “Happy.”
Nominees for Album of the Year, the most coveted Grammy award, will be announced on A Very GRAMMY Christmas, which will air tonight at 9:00p.m. ET on CBS.
Maroon 5, Pharrell, Mary J. Blige, Tim McGraw, Ariana Grande, with new beau rapper Big Sean, and Sam Smith will perform current hits.
